Headmen Asked to Watch Cleanliness Troops Performance

Waste problem seems still be serious issue in Jakarta City Administration. To cope the problem, city will form cleanliness troops as the first trial in North Jakarta and will be supervised directly by Urban Village as its supervisor.

North Jakarta Requires 100 Additional Dump Trucks

“For north area and precisely in City. The headmen (Urban village head, Sub-District head, and Mayor) were also assigned. If there an dirty area, the first person to take responsible is the Urban Village head,” said Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama after being received grant for 5 dump trucks from PT Pelindo II at City Hall, Monday (5/11).

Ahok stated, the sub-district heads in every single area have to supervise urban village head’s performance, and mayor have to supervise sub-district head performance either.

“So the existence of regional working unit (SKPD) as consultant for the vendor side. The decision is in headman’s hands that also have the troops by 40 – 70 person,” he uttered.

Ahok admitted his annoyance with the waste transportation system in Capital that applied rental rather than buy a new fleet. He expressed his disappointment over the dump truck rental system in capital. It is because there are several dump truck that often pick the waste transportation spot which considerably bring the benefit for the driver. In the future, that such of thing never be happen, because every single dump truck will be installed with Global Positioning System (GPS).

“If you have Rp 400 billion to rent, how much you will get? 800 trucks, so do you still need to rent? Better you buy 800 trucks and get around,” he disclosed.
